Two students involved with the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program at the University of Northern Iowa have received scholarships from an industrial organization. The Twin Cities chapter of the American Foundry Society (AFS) honored graduate student Mark McAllister and senior Maria Alverio with the pair of awards at the organizations’ annual scholarship meeting held November 12.
McAllister, currently a second-year student in the Master’s of Science in Technology program, graduated recently from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology with a Metal Casting emphasis. Alverio is currently a senior in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, also studying the Metal Casting emphasis.
Brad Lorrigan from the University of Wisconsin-Stout received the third scholarship handed out by the organization.
